How do I get a library card?
Complete an application at the circulation desk or complete the Library Member Account Application. One must provide proof of residency in the East Mountain/ Estancia Valley Areas with just one of the following:
- Valid NM issued driver's license or NM ID, utility bill, phone bill, voter's ID, rental agreement, vehicle registration, bank statement, checkbook
Can my child get a library card?
Children 0-17 years old must have parent/guardian permission to get a library card. Parent/guardian must be present when a child gets a card.
I lost my library card. What do I do to replace it?
Adult patrons may receive a replacement card when they provide photo-proof identification (e.g., driver's license, passport, work ID, school ID).
Underage patrons (17 yrs or younger) may receive a replacement card only when a parent/guardian accompanies them and shows photo-proof identification.
ALL patrons must pay a fee of $1.00 for a replacement card.

How do I log into my account?
In upper right corner of the catalog, enter your full card number into the top box and your 10-digit phone number into the bottom box.
If your 10-digit phone number doesn't work, you may have set a password. To reset the password, call the library.
What can I do with my online account?
Your web-based online library account is accessible from any device that can connect to the web and allows you to:
- Establish a unique password
- View items checked out to you and their status
- Renew items
- Reserve items
- View fines due
- Bookmark items
- Designate a vacation delay so you won't miss your reserved titles
- View your check out history
- View and update notification options
- Allow you access to digital collections
How many items can I check out at once?
Patrons may check out up to 10 items per member account.
How long can I check out materials for?
- 3 weeks for: Books, Audiobooks, DVDs, Special Collection Items
- 2 weeks for: New Acquisitions
- 1 week for: Museum Passes
Can I check out materials without my library card?
Library cards are required to complete checkouts. In some cases, photo proof identification will be accepted in lieu of a library card.
Can I check out items if I have overdue materials?
No, all overdue materials must be returned or paid for to be able to check out more items.
How does having overdue items affect my library privileges?
Until all overdue items are returned or paid for, patrons and their immediate family members are restricted from: renewing materials, reserving materials, checking out materials, and ILL requests.
Can I renew my checked out materials?
Checked out materials will automatically renew once, 3 days prior to their due date.
How do I reserve library materials?
You can reserve library materials over the phone, in-person, or via the library catalog.
When can I pick up my reserved materials?
When your reserved items are ready, you will receive notification via text, email, or phone call to pick them up during library hours of operation.
Where can I pick up my reserved materials?
You can pick up your reserved materials at the circulation desk during library hours of operation.
How long will you hold my reserved materials?
Reserved books, DVDs, and audiobooks will be held for pick-up for 5 business days from the day you were notified. Museum passes will be held for pick-up for 3 business days from the day you were notified.
Any reserves not picked up will be placed back into circulation.
How do I borrow electronic books and audiobooks?
Borrow ebooks, audiobooks, and magazines to read on your phone or tablet using the Libby app by OverDrive. When logging in, search for New Mexico Library To Go. Once selected, enter your full card number and then your 10-digit phone number as the pin.

Can I print from the library computers?
Anyone may print from any of the public access computers in the library. Print-outs are .15¢ per page.
Can I make copies?
Yes, copies can be made at the Circulation Desk for .15¢ a page.
Do you have a fax machine?
No, the library does not have a fax machine. However, Mail & Copy does:

Can I print from my device?
No, you cannot print from your device (cellphone, tablet, laptop, etc.). Please use a library computer to print.
Do I need a library card to use the computers?
No, you do not need a library card to use the computers.
Do I need a library card to access the library WiFi?
No, you do not need a library card to access WiFi. When searching for WiFi networks, select ECL Open Wifi.
Can I print from my device?

Do you accept donations?
The library is happy to accept donations that are in good condition and current. Donated items that are free of mildew, mold, dust, and dirt without any excessive spine damage, missing pages, missing covers or water damage are much appreciated!

Can I have a receipt for my donations?
No, library staff are not authorized to establish the monetary value of any donation.
Can I give the library donations for the Friends of the Library?
No, we cannot accept donations on behalf of the Friends of the Library. Please contact them if you're interested in donating to their organization.
How do Interlibrary Loans (ILL) work?
Patrons with a valid Edgewood Community Library card can fill out an ILL Request Form per title at the circulation desk.
The Librarian will then request the title(s) from the New Mexico State Library to be sent, by mail, to the Edgewood Community Library for pick up by the requesting member.
Once the material(s) has arrived, the member will then be notified by the Librarian.
- Please allow 2-3 weeks for processing.
- ALL inter-library loans must be returned to the Edgewood Community Library.
How can I request an ILL?
Complete the ILL Request Form at the circulation desk.
