Summer Reading Program

No, you do not need a library card to participate in the summer reading program or summer reading events.

Pick up a reading tracker at the circulation desk. For each hour, you read, you earn 1 ticket. For youth, you can earn up to 5 tickets in June and 5 in July. For adults, you can earn up to 10 tickets during the summer. Each ticket you earn can go toward the prize drawing of your choice.

Participants in the youth program can earn monthly reading prizes too! If they read 5 hours in June and 5 hours in July, they earn monthly reading prizes. For children who can't read on their own yet, for every hour someone reads to them, they can earn a ticket. Bring your completed reading tracker to the circulation desk to enter into prizes.

Youth June trackers are due by July 5, 2024.
Youth July trackers and Adult trackers are due by August 7, 2024.

Yes, all summer reading events, including story time, are free.

No, none of the summer reading events require you to sign up.

Please know that the room for the art class and story time have limited capacity and we will try our best to accommodate everyone.

Yes, you can read books to your child to count toward their summer reading goal!

Youth Program (ages 0-17)

• Monthly reading prizes: Children can earn a monthly reading prize when they read 5 hours in June and 5 hours in July. Pick up the monthly prize each month once you've read 5 hours.
• Monthly prize drawings: There are several prize drawings available each month. As you read and earn tickets, put your tickets toward the prize drawing(s) of your choice. At the end of the month, a winner will be chosen at random for each prize. See prize drawing choices below.
• Grand prize: If you complete the summer reading challenge of reading 10 hours (5 in June & 5 in July), you are automatically entered into the grand prize drawing!

Adult Program (ages 15+)

• Prize drawings: As you read and earn tickets, put your tickets toward the prize drawing(s) of your choice. At the end of the summer, a winner will be chosen at random for each prize. See prize drawing choices below.
• Grand prize: If you complete the summer reading challenge of reading 10 hours, you are automatically entered into the grand prize drawing!

Please return trackers by these dates to ensure you're entered into the prize drawings:

• Youth June trackers due July 5, 2024
• Youth July trackers and Adult trackers due August 7, 2024

As you earn tickets, you can put those tickets toward the prize drawing(s) of your choice. Circle the corresponding number on the tracker with the prize you'd like to enter. You can enter into the same prize several times, or enter into different prizes, its up to you!
